Manchester City captain, Vincent Kompany celebrated Manchester City’s Premier League title a Manchester United fan.
Kompany also thanked West Brom players for delivering the title earlier than expected.
It was West Brom’s victory over United on Sunday that confirmed City’s status as champions.
Manchester City players were not expecting Jose Mourinho’s men to lose at home to West Brom and Kompany watched the game with his family, rather than with his team-mates.
Kompany explained why he was seen hugging a United fan during his celebrations.
He told Sky Sports, “It just shows how football is lived in Manchester.
“We’ve got Reds in the family, we’ve got Blues in the family.
“Today was the day for the Blues, the e’s been many days for the Reds before. Ultimately it’s banter, but he’s a better loser than a winner.”
Kompany added, “You can’t take it for granted.
“I’ve been lucky to win three but so many we’ve missed as well. My team-mates will probably roll their eyes but I want to see how the reaction will be now. Can we defend the title?’
“Its same feeling as first time you cant describe I was talking before first time you win you think you’ll win all,. And first time you lose you think you’ll never win again.
“Amazing achievement, proud of everyone involved. I had that feeling when I woke up. I don’t like to wait and see a team lose so it was different. Wonderful goal from Rodriguez – thank you!”
