Apart From Wizkid & Davido, Who Is The Third Ruling Force In The Music Industry?

Ever since Wizkid and Davido broke into the Nigerian Music Industry, these two have taken the industry by storm and turn into the world of their own.

Dropping hits yearly, having beefs with each other, growing their fan base and also establishing their feet in the global scene, it seems music in Nigeria is all about these two.

However, things are beginning to change and we are starting to see an evolution recently.

Olamide also seems to be interested in the foreign community, Tekno was signed last year by Sony Music, Tiwa Savage was also signed by Jay Z to ROC Music.

But the big question is ➨ Who really is giving Wizkid and Davido a run for their money?

Olamide

King of the street, loved by both the locals and elites. Olamide has tried so hard to bridge the gap between the Island and Mainland and finally connected these two together with his music.

What he has failed to achieve his translating that success to establishing his feet in the foreign music scene.

His features with Skepta and Wale were not really received and it would lead to reduction in shows abroad.

This obviously doesn’t classify as a major force when compared with the success Davido and Wizkid have achieved in the international scene.

Tiwa Savage

Steadily, Tiwa Savage keeps warming her way to our hearts with Sugarcane music. Feel good music. All Over and Ma Lo were wonderful.

There was a particular show where American Music Heavyweights Remy Ma and FatJoe called Tiwa Savage “African Rihanna“. That shows she has established herself successfully within a short period of time.

She also got a remix with Omarion and back home she’s serving us hot with features to songs. Surely, Tiwa deserves a place in that top three.

Is Tiwa Savage the best person for the No. 3 Position?

Tekno

We saw the fullness of Tekno‘s glory in 2016-2017. He was everywhere with Duro and Pana.

He further gave us Diana, Go and Yawa. He was just too exceptional. He was keeping things tidy at home while trying to establish some international connects.

He has met with Drake but apart from that, he still hasn’t achieved anything in the global space.

Is Tekno the best person for the No. 3 Position?
