The 2015 gubernatorial candidate of Peoples Democratic Movement in Katsina State, Senator Yakubu Lado Danmarke, at the weekend, led thousands of his supporters to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The defectors were received by the National Chairman of the PDP, Prince Uche Secondus at the PDP North-West zonal rally in Katsina.
Speaking at the ceremony which witnessed a massive turn out of party faithful across the North West zone and the 34 local governments in Katsina, Secondus expressed delight that a high profile politician like Senator Lado and thousands of his supporters would add value to the party ahead of the 2019 elections.
Secondus added that the defectors would enjoy all benefits and privileges like older members of the party.

Speaking on behalf of the defectors, Senator Lado pledged to mobilize all his political arsenals in making sure the PDP wrested power from the APC in Katsina State and at the centre.
He, however, noted that this could only be possible when members shelved acrimony and unite to save the country from the myriad of problems confronting it.
Those who attended the ceremony included the governors of Gombe, Ekiti and Akwa- Ibom states. Others include the former governor of Katsina State, Alhaji Ibrahim Shehu Shema, former governor of Jigawa State, Alhaji Sule Lamido, former governor of Kano state, Malam Ibrahim Shekarau, and former governor of Sokoto state, Alhaji Attahiru Dalhatu Bafarawa among others.
